Wow, this has been a week of random posts! From recipes, to crafts, to travel! My sister, aunt, and I have been in the great pacific northwest all week visiting family for our cousin’s high school graduation, which was Tuesday night. It has been awesome to hang out with our cousins who we don’t get to see very often…a lot of laughs and us realizing that even though we live far apart, we definitely are related.

Cousins!
We also have been able to get out and enjoy the weather (mid 70’s everyday baby!), explore the area (more on that later), and eat delicious food.
One afternoon, we headed into downtown Portland for a late lunch at the Bridgeport Brew Pub
I love restaurants with open kitchens, so it was really cool to see one here! For beer, I tried the summer squeeze bright ale, which is on the lighter side and has hints of lemon flavor…it was very good.
Their menu is relatively small compared to other breweries/restaurants I’ve eaten at, but I still had trouble deciding what to get because it all looked pretty good! My sister and aunt both got sandwiches, and my cousin Lauryn and I both got the macaroni and cheese.
The mac and cheese was awesome! It was topped with their homemade kettle chip crumbs, which was the perfect combination of crunchy to go along with all that cheesiness.
We then headed across the street to Sisters Coffee Company for some biscotti. My personal fave of this pic? The guy in the background who did not want to be in the picture! Bahaha.
For dessert, we then headed over to Lovejoy Bakers. A cafe that reminds me of Panera, but with a more local touch. Lovejoy Bakers is located in the Pearl St. district, a neighborhood that I instantly fell in love with.
We ordered a few desserts, including the Lovejoy Oreo…yum! The filling was to die for!
Mmmmm, yes. I was in heaven that day. I really do love this area. Happy Thursday, everyone!
